Recently the media has highlighted various reports about apps containing viruses for Smartphones. It will be foolish to believe that only laptops and computers can get affected by viruses. Nowadays, one also needs to be careful as far as tablet PCs as well as Smartphones are concerned, as downloadable applications could be virus-infected. If you are afraid of recycling your cell phones continually due to viruses and the risk they entail, you may seriously want to consider only those applications which are from reputed virus protection firms. Fraud can happen anytime, anywhere and people with malware always find ways and means to get critical information from your old phone. You can be cautious by following some simple steps in keeping your phone safe and recycling only those handsets which are past their prime.

As a safety measure, people have also been warned of choosing the right recycling centre from where they should buy second hand cell phones. A company which cannot be trusted is capable of serving up malware on your phone. An interesting fact is that every one phone out of ten second hand phones contains information, which can be stolen through the virus. However, you should not refrain from recycling your old mobile phones as they actually erase data on the entire phone and just preserve a few rare metals in the process of recycling. Trust only the direct application companies for your tablet PCs or Smartphones to ensure your phone is safe, instead of any unfamiliar sites which sell apps.

A cell phone race seems to be going on nowadays in the market. The two manufacturers fighting it out between themselves to notch the top most rank in the UK are Samsung and Apple. A survey was conducted recently which revealed that Apple and Samsung jointly hold about 50 per cent of the total share in the market. In fact, it is 53.3 per cent to be precise.

The battle between the two manufacturers also has an interesting aspect to it, which is about cell phone recycling. The Apple 4S released by Apple recently led to an immediate change in the market and mobile phones started getting recycled at many plants in the UK. Old BlackBerrys and Apple iPhones were among several brands that entered the cell phone recycled market. On this list of recycled mobile phones, Samsung did not rank on top; still we know that its market share is quite high considering the number of Samsung phones possessed by many UK residents. The change will see more Samsungs entering the recycling centres in the coming year or two.

As far as the Samsung phones are concerned, another school of thought gets associated with it. It is about the technology or the kind of users it has who do not feel any need to get something new or upgrade their existing phone constantly. Looks like the Samsung user waits till the phone does not conk off completely before making a switch. Let us see what the coming months have in store for Samsung phones hitting the cell phone recycling market.

Apple's first-quarter sales in the year 2012 for its iPhone 4S model have helped the company double its sales figures in comparison to last year.

Apple’s first-quarter sales in the year 2012 for its iPhone 4S model have helped the company double its sales figures in comparison to last year. The latest statistics show that a total worth of £7.2 billion of Apple iPhones were sold in the first three months of this year. The company successfully managed to sell around 35 million units of mobile phones in this period due to the iPhone 4S launch. The encouraging sales figures of iPad 3 also contributed significantly to the overall first-quarter earnings of the company. It is a foregone conclusion that it will be yet another strong year for Apple as a company. What is great news is that it will also be a strong year for mobile phone recycling.
Mobile phone recyclers have revealed that older versions of iPhone are one of the most recycled phones in the marketplace. A large number of phones which get turned in for recycling are in fact the first and second iPhone editions. In fact, quite a few iPhone 4 models (the predecessor of iPhone 4S) are also being brought in for the purpose of recycling. This is good news for all those people who cannot afford a brand-new iPhone. They can make use of mobile phone recycling in order to lay hands on a phone that they always wanted to use. So, it is a win-win situation for all parties involved. The mobile phone recycling companies increase their revenues, people who surrender old iPhones earn some handsome cash and others are able to afford a reasonably new iPhone which they always wanted to have.

If you have more than one cell phone at home, then it is likely you are holding on to the older phones because of the pictures in them that you do not wish to lose. Did you ever wonder if it makes sense to have three old handsets collecting dust in your drawers simply because they have some of your good memories saved in them? If this sounds familiar, my suggestion would be to not worry as we have a solution that could earn you some profit.

If you have a device handy, you could transfer all the data you need; else you can simply approach a local cell phone store that will transfer the data for you on to your new phone. If you have any older model, this will definitely work but if you wish to do yourself, you may use memory cards or USB cords or any other option available to download pictures from the old phone directly to the computer. The data, once downloaded to the computer, can be dumped and one must ensure that no data remains on it after your reset the old phone.

All set now to earn some profit from mobile phone recycling? The profit is just a small reward you earn from your old unused mobile phones. Depending on the condition of your mobile and its model, you could earn anywhere up to £200 through cell phone recycling. The better the phone, the more profit you can make on it!

In Japan, a handful of enterprising students have decided to make use of cell phone recycling to help restore their school after it got damaged due to the earthquake last year. The students went about collecting old cell phones from landfills and recycling centres and have turned them into a place which will pay them for recycling of old mobile phones.

This really makes me think what all one can do for a charity of my choice or even for my country. The scope is endless; it is just a matter of pondering over it seriously. If anyone you know has old mobile phones which are not being used and gathering dust at home, they can easily be turned in and be used for helping people in need. It is very simple – just go online and look for a website which engages in mobile phone recycling so that it gets you a decent deal for the old phone. The recycling company then does the remaining work of checking the phone’s worth and providing with the funds.

Once you receive the cheque, be sure to give it to the person, the charity or the country you think requires it the most. You can even take the initiative by launching a campaign similar to the one in Japan which asks people for their old cell phones, turns them in into a mobile phone recycling centre, receives the funds and sends them to a favourite charity. Helping someone in need is definitely a good gesture.

The competition between different recyclers is just becoming tougher by the day and a lot of it is due to the fact that consumers are now more aware and have realized the excellent merits of cell phone recycling. An important development that meets the eye is that cell phone recycling has got consumers searching for the best deals and places which are offering more cash for recycling of old devices.

I won’t be surprised if it is due to their need of some extra money irrespective of where it is coming from. However it may also be because of their understanding now of the contents of these phones and how cell phone recycling can actually benefit the earth in ways more than one. With all the precious metals that are contained in these mobile phones, plenty of new electronics can be made by re-using them instead of losing them or even worse, allowing the lithium batteries for instance to contaminate our water supplies. Whatever the reason may be for increased popularity of cell phone recycling, it is an excellent development.

Not only mobile phones, but even other electronics can be recycled. Even mobile devices such as old iPads can be recycled. The companies basically check if such old devices can first be resold at a lower value for people who may be in need of one and do not mind a second hand device. By recycling of mobile phones or any other electronic, we can help our planet by recycling precious metals and even earning cash against it.

You will be surprised to know that various precious metals such as gold, silver, nickel and palladium among others are used in production of technological devices we use on an everyday basis.

You will be surprised to know that various precious metals such as gold, silver, nickel and palladium among others are used in production of technological devices we use on an everyday basis. Mobile phones too use some of the very precious elements on earth and needless to say, manufacturers of mobile phones all across the world, especially in countries such as Japan, are constantly looking for ways to recycle them in order to produce newer models of phones. Mobile phone recycling is one of such steps to help preserve these precious metals.

The government had conducted a survey recently wherein 1,500 kg of gold was carried by 100 million cell phones. In other words, if these 100 million phones get discarded in the landfills, then 1,500 kg gold is simply lost. More than the worth of the gold, it is the huge negative impact that these phones and other electronics have on our environment. Other components of cell phones such as lithium batteries too are harmful for the planet.

I don’t think we are left with much choice except to recycle our mobile phones since we not only need the ever-precious gold to make new devices, but also need to consider the harmful impact they have on our environment if dumped.

A small profit is offered to everyone who engages in mobile phone recycling by turning in their old cell phones. One can even fetch a good price if the mobile phone is in a working condition, since they can be sold to people who require decent working phones. The other handsets are simply sent to recycling centres for processing and the precious metals are rescued for additional use.

As millions of cell phones do not get recycled and instead get dumped into waste bins, a number of precious and rare metals are getting lost. The government is now taking another look on the huge quantum of metals which are being wasted on a daily basis. Cobalt and gold are just a few of the precious metals which are used in manufacture of mobile devices such as mobile phones, TVs, headphones, batteries and even laptops. Most of the mobile devices used these days actually make use of such rare earth elements and yet we keep throwing them out instead of taking advantage of schemes like mobile phone recycling.

Around 12 million tonnes of e-waste will end up in landfills between the year 2012 and 2020, if the estimates are to be believed. Out of this trash, a quarter will be the IT equipment containing 17 tonnes of iridium and 63 tonnes of palladium. Monetizing this loss at the current market prices, palladium will be worth a billion pounds while iridium will cost roughly 380 million pounds. It will not be shocking if the worth of both these elements becomes much higher in the times to come, unless of course their supply increases.

Seriously speaking, do not think that mobile phone recycling is only about the worth lost. With the pace at which our earth is being stripped off its precious resources, we will have great trouble manufacturing products in the future. If metals are gone, will we be able to make the next generation iPad for instance?

Recycling of mobile phones is becoming more popular and people are now starting to realize its numerous benefits. The past few months have witnessed an increasing number of people taking up this new initiative and engaging in mobile phone recycling. In schools too, the children are gathering old mobile phones and recycling them. They are beginning to gather and sending for recycling online and even through recycling centres. Many children are making efforts to make people aware about the endless benefits of cell phone recycling including its existence and ability to get you cash on recycling old phones.

Mobile phone recycling, undoubtedly, is a great option to consider and use each time you want to pick up a new phone from the market. These days, it is quite easy to locate where you could turn your old phone to, so there is absolutely no excuse you can make to not recycle old phones. You will do the planet a lot of good and save it from immense damage.

With a number of rare elements that these mobile phones contain, they must be preserved so that we can keep manufacturing electronics in future. Batteries and touch screens are some of the properties in electronics which actually harm the planet as well as our fresh water systems. Our earth could be getting ruined faster if these rare parts do not get recycled properly.

Cell phone recycling is extremely simple. Just check your old phone, look up online to see its worth and send it for recycling to a chosen centre. You will earn money for mobile phone recycling.

A suggestion has been forwarded regarding mobile phones carrying a deposit, as is the case with bottles.

A suggestion has been forwarded regarding mobile phones carrying a deposit, as is the case with bottles. A few experts in Germany believe that if such a ‘bottle’ deposit is introduced, people will be more willing to recycle their old phones when they wish to purchase a new cell phone.

This suggestion works best to generate more interest in people to turn in their old cell phones. However, there definitely are certain advantages of mobile phone recycling right now. The proposal in Germany currently is to essentially make the mobile phone worth flat 10 Euros in case the deposit is provided. Right now, if your mobile phone, say an old model iPhone but still in a working condition, is sent for recycling, one could earn more than £50 for cell phone recycling.

Mobile phone recycling is indeed lucrative if you turn in an old cell phone which still has quite a demand in the market, fetching itself a good value. Mobile phones which have the potential of being recycled in a process of re-selling carry more weight and value and you can earn more by turning them in. A phone which is no longer in a working condition and will need to be sent for recycling to separate its individual parts will only fetch a few pounds.

That is exactly why it is very important to take benefits of cell phone recycling while the phone is still new. One can use this money to pay towards the purchase of the new phone.
