A New Age Smart Phone Launched

Smart phones are a quite common possession amongst UK residents nowadays. People here have gone to unimaginable lengths to procure one, including opting for environment friendly programs like mobile phone recycling to earn some handy cash for their smart phone purchases. Mobile phone recycling is rapidly gaining popularity as a green come lucrative method for easy cash.

Samsung recently announced the launch of a new mobile device which will make life easier for people who use Tablet PCs or iPads as secondary devices (to take down notes) apart from their smart phones. The launch of this new phone, known as Galaxy Note happened recently in the United States. It consists of a 5.3 inch touch screen operated with an accompanying stylus. Samsung announced that they wanted to make sure that smart phone users got everything they wanted in one single mobile device.

At present, the Galaxy Note is available only from AT&T in the United States, while the other Samsung models are commonly available via different providers throughout the world. The device is currently priced at around $300 and will hopefully be slightly less when it reaches the United Kingdom. It will be launched in the UK only if the reception in the US is above average. Samsung wanted to offer a phone which had the flexibility of a Tablet PC and was handy enough to attend to phone calls.

It is too early to predict if the phone will be successful in breaking the market share of Apple’s iPhone and/or iPad. Many companies have tried this in the past but have failed miserably.

The Most Recycled Mobile: Blackberry

Just in case you did not know, Blackberry phones rank at the top when it comes to classifying the most traded in cell phones for cash.

Blackberrys stood at the number one position amongst all the mobile phones turned in for recycling. In January, around £2.65 million mobile phones got recycled and Blackberry accounted for maximum number of phones. Apple 3GS also was rated high on the listing fetching £104 on an average for the handset.

Amongst other phones which were recycled, HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire and even Samsung Galaxy S were also noticed. Over the last year, Blackberry has not seen a favourable reputation and this could be one of the reasons why it topped the list of recycled phones as the new year started. Consumers must have been over with their contract and they are now opting for mobile phone recycling in order to earn some cash towards purchasing a new phone. Apple 4S is witnessing maximum interest in 2012 as a brand new phone.

The survey on cell phone recycling stated that among all smart phone sales, Blackberrys increased by about 28 per cent. This is still a very low figure considering that majority of recycled phones were Blackberrys. In the previous month, around 40,000 cell phones have got recycled through each recycler. This is a whopping number and even more astonishing is the fact that so many phones turned in for recycling were in a good condition. This just shows that owners were probably just looking to upgrade their old phones.

Mobile Phone Recycling: A Means to Help Exploited and Missing Children

It is indeed a matter of concern if our precious children in the society are not cared for or protected. Unfortunately, we see many incidents happening worldwide where children either end up missing or are mistreated. We must understand that they are our country’s future and must be looked after well. A USA company called Sprint has decided to launch a cell phone recycling programme which helps the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. Quite noteworthy is the fact that a substantial sum of money has already been brought in for the noble cause.

The UK does not have any such programme running currently, but nothing should stop anyone from doing their part. Recycling of mobile phones is open to all for helping children. This money can then be given to charities which help children. If you are not keen for a charity donation, could even offer the amount directly to help the children in need.

Cell phone recycling helps in earning cash and if your phone is one of the popular models, you could certainly earn much more from recycling it. However, it does not matter how much earnings you will make, since your end purpose is to help children and any amount towards this cause is always welcome. No wonder, this programme from the USA is gaining lot of interest all over the world. This is one of the greater advantages of mobile phone recycling apart from preserving our environment and planet. Hopefully someone starts a similar type of programme here in the UK soon.
